Dangling off a ledge,
Hanging by a thread,
Her heart is filled with dread,
It was always all in her head,
But she still holds on.
She's standing straight up tall,
Working hard to get over the wall,
But she's never felt more small,
She knows it's gonna fall,
But she still holds on.
She got what she bought,
A battle was fought,
This wasn't what she was taught,
She must fight her sad thoughts,
But she still holds on.
She's so far away but still so near,
Her heart is filled with fear,
She held this place so dear,
But she knew it would all disappear,
But she still holds on.
She is the only one who will know,
Although she loved it so,
And everyone told her no,
She's never letting go,
But she still holds on.
You'd be surprised she never got mad,
At the people who were always bad,
She remembers the fun times they had,
And for that she's very glad,
But she still holds on.
This place was the main,
The sunshine in the rain,
But the memories are filled with pain,
She can't remember when she was sane,
But she still holds on.
And although she said,
She would never forget,
She finally wants to let go,
But her heart is telling her no.
But she just let go.

The sadness is overwhelming.
Best poem I've written in a while I can say.
